Our theme for 2024Going Deeper
The Key Verse:
Make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love.
For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ [2 Peter 1:5-8]
January The Armour of God
Read Michelle's newsletter - a year on.
Michelle talks of Flora's assimilation, moving back into her home and she asks for our prayer when a decision is to be made that will finally see Flora with Australian Citizenship and the right to use Black as her name. This will happen on 20 October.
Michelle has not been able to secure a permanent teaching position but has been kept has many days of casual work teaching a very wide variety of subjects and age groups. She asks us to pray that she will get sufficient work to cover 6 weeks of unpaid leave during the Christmas break.
Flora is to have extensive dental work shortly. We pray that this will be successful without trauma.

Key verses:
42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43 Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. 44 All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. 46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved
Acts 2:42-47 [NIV]
The topics for July 2023 teaching, based on 1 Corinthians 13, series are:
Sunday, July 2 Everything-Love=Nothing
Sunday, July 9. Love that’s Patient and Kind
Sunday, July 16 How to be Envy Free.
Sunday, July 23 Why Am I so Irritable?
Sunday, July 30 Trust In the Trustworthy
If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
